Garden Club
The garden club is one of the many clubs that is part of the extra curricular activities at IMS. Students from all three grades are allowed to participate in the club. The people who run this club are Mrs. Alvarado and Ms. Pafumi. The club tries to meet up every Tuesday and Thursday of course, weather permitting. What do they do in the Garden club??? Well, in this club you get to learn how to weed, mulch, and prune. We also learn how to properly use garden tools properly, learn about plants, and plant a variety of flowers and shrubs. The members spend their time beautifying the school’s main entrance, courtyard, and the Butterfly Garden. The butterfly garden has plants that butterflies can feed from while they are migrating on their way to New Mexico from Canada. That’s not all! the members of the garden club get to go on trips within the community to help outsiders with projects outside of school such as Tooling Around the Town and National Public Landscape Day. You get a chance to go visit a garden on the Rutgers campus. There you get a chance to meet experts who work on the campus gardens. They will explain what kinds of plants are planted in their grounds and why each one is important. So, if you are looking for a club that includes fun, hard-work, and a way to make friends then this is the right club for you to join.
